Day 1 (SUNDAY) Arrival in Vilnius, optional transfer to Hotel Reval Lietuva**** or similar, check-in, welcome meeting.
Day 2 (MONDAY) Vilnius is known for its more than 1.200 medieval buildings and 48churches. The morning sightseeing tour includes a panoramic tourof the city and a walking tour of the Old Town with Vilnius Cathedral,Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anne’s Church, OldUniversity and the Gates of Dawn. The afternoon offers an optionalexcursion to Trakai, the medieval capital of Lithuania, with the wellpreserved Trakai Castle, beautifully located on an island in LakeGalve. In the evening enjoy an optional folklore dinner at RestaurantMarceliukes Kletis.
Day 3 (TUESDAY) Heading for Riga, the first stop is the Hills of Crosses, one of the mostholy sites of Catholic Lithuania. After crossing into Latvia we soonreach the magnificent Rundale Palace, the former summer residenceof the Duke of Courland. Following a guided tour of the palace wetravel through the rolling hills of Southern Latvia to reach Riga lateafternoon, check-in at Hotel Reval Latvija**** or similar.
Day 4 (WEDNESDAY) Before we get acquainted with Riga we’ll have the possibility of discoveringmedieval Latvia. The optional tour of this morning takes usto the stunning scenery of the Gauja National Park and the town ofSigulda. We’ll listen to the medieval Latvian legend of the Rose ofTuraida, and see Maja’s Tombstone, the ruins of the Episcopal Castle,the ruins of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword and the mysteriousGutman Cave before we return to Riga.
Day 5 (THURSDAY) Riga, founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert, is the largestof the three Baltic capitals and boasts a real kaleidoscope of architecturalstyles. The walking tour of the Old Town includes RigaCastle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, theThree Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and the Freedom Monument.The afternoon is reserved for an optional visit to Jurmala, thevibrant Latvian sea resort, famous for its wooden architecture andsandy beaches. In the evening, enjoy an optional Latvian dinner atthe stylish Restaurant La Boheme.
Day 6 (FRIDAY) The tour continues along the coastal highway to the Estonian summerresort of Parnu. We do a short tour of the resort and a leisurelystroll along the beach. The balance of the day goes through theNorth Estonian land of forests to Tallinn, check-in at Hotel RevalOlympia**** or similar.
Day 7 (SATURDAY) Tallinn is a charming blend of medieval tranquility and modernurban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place in the summerwith its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés andrestaurants. The sightseeing tour takes us around the old medievalcity walls and into the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle,the Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the medievalOld Town Hall. In the afternoon an optional excursion is offered toRocca-Al-Mare Parkmuseum, a spacious exposition of 18th centuryEstonian countryside life. The evening offers an optional medievaldinner at Restaurant Peppersack.
Day 8 (SUNDAY) Optional transfer to airport.
